Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Brackla, Llew's Takeaway stands out as a beloved local gem specializing in classic British fish and chips alongside a tempting selection of fast food favorites. This unassuming takeaway at 7 Whitethorn Dr has carved a niche for itself by consistently delivering fresh, hearty meals that celebrate simplicity done right.

What truly sets Llew’s apart is their commitment to quality and freshness, even during the last minutes of service. Customers frequently praise the staff’s dedication—on more than one occasion, they’ve been applauded for frying up fresh chips mere minutes before closing time, ensuring every bite is crispy, golden, and piping hot. This commitment shines through in their carefully prepared chips that crackle with just the right crunch while maintaining a fluffy interior.

The menu, while straightforward, offers genuine crowd-pleasers. From traditional fish and chips to meat pies that are a staple of British comfort food, each dish carries a familiar, nostalgic flavor. Although some reviewers mention the occasional dryness in pies or the rarity of ‘a few bad chips,’ the overwhelmingly positive feedback about the tasty, generously portioned food is undeniable. Not to mention, the jumbo sausages—so good they even earn an enthusiastic tail wag from four-legged visitors who are treated to free sausages with every visit!

Dining at Llew's doesn’t involve sitting down, but the takeaway experience is elevated by the warmth and chatter of the staff. Many customers commend the friendly, welcoming nature of the team, which transforms a quick food grab into a genuinely pleasant encounter. The combination of efficient, personalized service and food cooked fresh on demand ensures that Llew’s Takeaway feels less like a fast food stop and more like a local friends’ meet-up spot.

Reasonably priced and open seven days a week, Llew's offers a reliable option for those craving satisfying, no-nonsense British fast food in Bridgend. Whether you’re coming from Canolfan or making the trip from Ogmore Vale, this takeaway promises a delightful burst of savory flavors that’s hard to beat. It's clear why Llew’s Takeaway has built a loyal following and remains a standout choice for anyone seeking a fresh, friendly, and utterly comforting fish and chips experience.

Called in late last night only 15 minutes before closing, and they still put in a fresh load of chips for me and threw in a jumbo sausage free for the dog. Pie was a little dried out though but it was late. Chatty helpful staff. X

Nice some bad chips but then you will always get a few bad chips wherever you go had some bones in fish. Other than that I was loving the food think I will go back to pie as I do love the pies.

Honesty, these are the best chips in bridgend. They have lost a star purely as there are a few times where they. Out of nowhere, have awful chips and give you barely any. I have no idea what the factor is that has changed on these occasions but it tends to be when they have less customers. I don't know what comes first, the bad chips or the quiet day. But it's always unfortunate
